Battalion 1944 Reaches Kickstarter Goal in Less than 3 Days

rKade | Battalion 1944

Battalion 1944 is strange. It is a WWII game being developed right now. Head back 10 years ago and you would have found the exact opposite. 2006 saw the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It was such a strange move for a shooter game. They they even included Modern in the title ffs!

That game is still easily my favourite shooter ever! As many of you would agree. Since then the Call of Duty series and other shooters have gone for a futuristic setting. Exo-suits, jet-pack jumping, abilities and wall running – they have all found their way into the genre and I think they are s**t.

Enter Battalion 1944. Take a look at the announcement video below. Battalion 1944 – Is this the shooter we have been waiting for?Battalion 1944 was put up on Kickstarter by Bulkhead Interactive in hope of raising £100,000. The sheer interest in this game has seen this target smashed in just 3 days!

At the time of writing this, £174,731 has been raised with 23 days still left to go. Bulkhead have already stated they are going to invest £100,000 of their own money into the game. It looks like this project is going from strength-to-strength.

Cycles in game trends mean over saturation. This makes us fed up. Give us too many WWII games and we will love a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Give us too many Black Ops games or futuristic shooters, and we may just love Battalion 1944.
Battalion 1944 recaptures the core of classic multiplayer shooters and propels WW2 into the next generation of gaming. Battalion 1944 utilizes the most advanced industry technology to create a visceral and heart-thumping multiplayer experience that has been crafted by the designers who have grown up playing Medal of Honor and Call of Duty 2.

Visit the Kickstarter and support the development of our spiritual successor to great games like Call of Duty 2, Medal of Honor, and Battlefield 1942.There is no hiding the developers’ passion for games such as Call of Duty 2 and Medal of Honour. It seems as though it is in safe hands, but there is one question…

Do we want a WWII shooter again? It is a yes from me!

Check out the timeline below to see the stage the game is at… There is no release date as of yet for Battalion 1944, with it being in such an early stage. It will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

I created rKade, hence the name! My favourite game has to be Uncharted 2 - I was 16 when that game come out and it was just huge. My favourite film is Back to the Future, closely followed by Die Hard, of course.
