E3 | Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Trailer

rKade | Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard takes us into first-person VR territory.Resident Evil is one of those household names we have grown up with as 90’s kids. It has spawned movies since the original game and the series has recently become available as remastered for current-gen consoles.

We have always played in third-person, with gameplay in Resident Evil 6 become the most action oriented title to date.

Capcom released this trailer at E3 for Resident Evil 7 Biohazard.

Check it out below. You can instantly see that Resident Evil 7 Biohazard looks totally different to what we have become to know the series for. Plus, a switch to a first-person perspective could bring us closer to the horror experience that we have never felt before.

Taking that immersive horror experience further, we can play Resident Evil 7 in epic Virtual Reality on the PlayStation VR. If you are not lucky enough to have VR, you can still play this game normally on your PS4 for example. Let’s face it, this could be the new standard for all horror games going forward. Feeling as though you are in a real-life horror world just seems so cool and totally freaking scary! The potential that VR is beginning to show. In 20 years time we could look back to this year and say, “This is when the gaming world changed!”

Can’t wait for the release date? You are in luck, a demo for Resident Evil 7 has been made available for PlayStation Plus users, so go and give it a go right now! Just a note, the demo is seperate from the main game, more a taster of what is to come from the full game.

Furthermore, Resident Evil 7 will include a new set of characters but will still take place in the same Resident Evil universe we have come to know and love.

For more on the game, make sure you check out this interview over at The Verge.

You can watch me stream the demo below too! Resident Evil 7 Biohazard will be available 24th January, 2017 on PS4. Xbox One and Steam.

I created rKade, hence the name! My favourite game has to be Uncharted 2 - I was 16 when that game come out and it was just huge. My favourite film is Back to the Future, closely followed by Die Hard, of course.
