FIFA 17 has a load of new updates. We have collected them altogether for you!Okay, it’s the end of the football season, but at least we have the Euros to enjoy. C’mon Wales!
Sneaking up on us, however, is FIFA 17; it really is that time of the year where EA start to release news for the latest footy game in the FIFA series.
We will kick-off (see what I did there?) with the official gameplay trailer. The JourneyNow, it is time to introduce FIFA’s brand new game mode, entitled ‘The Journey’.
Check out the trailer for the info.“Powered by Frostbite, The Journey is a new mode in FIFA 17. Make your mark on and off the pitch as the Premier League’s next rising star, Alex Hunter. Play at any Premier League club, for authentic managers, and alongside some of the best players on the planet.”One of the industry’s leading game engines, Frostbite delivers authentic, true-to-life action, takes players to new football worlds, and introduces fans to characters full of depth and emotion in FIFA 17 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.For the first time ever in FIFA, live your story on and off the pitch as the Premier League’s next rising star, Alex Hunter. In The Journey, Alex Hunter’s Premier League career is impacted by your performance on the pitch, and the decisions you make off of it. Make critical decisions throughout the game that will change what happens next and how other characters react to you. Will you put your team first before your own success? The choice is yours. From free kicks to penalties to corner kicks, inject personality and experience control from every dead ball situation. Customize your run up on free kicks to create more variety in the spin and movement on the ball. You can now deliver worldies like outside of the foot direct free kicks that bend around the opposition. Similar changes to corners and penalties! User Controlled Throw-ins; walk the line to gain a better position on your throw. Fake your throw to keep your defender guessing. And throw it with pace to a teammate. All new physical interactions. This means we can finally challenge goalkeepers, hooray! Plus ‘Pushback Tech’ allows players to get themselves between ball and defender, backing into them. This could be a silent assassin of a feature! Playing a ball up top for a big man to hold up and allow others to come into play would create a new way to play FIFA and just make it more authentic.Driven finish – you can now keep all shots low; threaded through passes; driven goal-kicks and downward headers. All these will have an impact on overall gameplay.A brand new system introduces constant spatial analysis, increases activity off the ball, and changes the way players move, read, and react. To bring things together, FIFA 17 looks to bring in major changes to gameplay and the graphics of a game. I don’t think we have ever seen such a dramatic change from the previous years iteration.
With Konami’s PES 2016 closing the gap on FIFA 16, with many deeming it to be better than FIFA last year, it is clear that EA have had a wake up call.
Big changes come with big risks. We will have to see whether they will pay off. rKade will bring you more on FIFA 17 when it becomes available. FIFA 17 is available globally from September 29 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
