PlayStation Beta Launches

After its initial Beta earlier in the year, you can now stream PlayStation Now titles right here in the UK!

PS Now is available on PS3, PS4, PS Vita and a select range of Sony Bravia devices. To enjoy the service, you’ll need a Sony Entertainment Network account, an accepted payment method, Dualshock 4 or Dualshock 3 wireless controller, compatible Sony device* and a broadband internet connection (minimum 5mbps recommended). The advantages with PlayStation Plus are that because you are streaming the titles, you don’t have to wait for them to download as you currently would if you were to digitally download a game.

During it’s beta there were trials with the pricing models; originally adopting a pay-as-you-play model from £3 to £8 depending on how long you rented the game for.

Now, however, it seems to have adopted the popular Netflix model where you can subscribe for £12.99/month and play as many of the titles to death as you like. Woop.

As an added bonus or teaser for anyone looking to try out the service, Sony are offering a free 7 day trial – but make sure you go to your account setting and cancel once the 7 days are up if you no longer wish to use it. Otherwise you WILL be charged for the next month – not good!

There are 100+ titles in the library at the moment including The Last of Us, Metro: Last Light, Killzone 3, Velocity Ultra, Motorstorm Apocalypse and Ico HD.

Unfortunately, there’s no Rainbow Six Vegas (YET) which would make my day on an enormous level! Fingers crossed ey?

More titles will be added as time goes by… PlayStation Now comes with a Free 7-Day Trial. £12.99/month thereafter.

I created rKade, hence the name! My favourite game has to be Uncharted 2 - I was 16 when that game come out and it was just huge. My favourite film is Back to the Future, closely followed by Die Hard, of course.
